GEOLOGY
Hematite is one of the most dense minerals and gains its magnetic powers when heated. Its raw form is a dusty dark red colour, with metallic grey hues coming through once tumbled and polished. Iron based, it contains up to 70% of the element and is known as the “blood” crystal, which forms in a variety of shapes, including fibrous columnar specimens.
